I started picking up my camera because I loved to capture the beauty around me. At first the beauty was found in the sunsets, beaches, mountains and waterfalls I encountered during my backpacking adventures around the world in the years following university. Next I found beauty in the gorgeous woman who was soon to become my wife. And now I also find beauty in my two adorable little princesses. I'm surrounded by beauty and inspiration. We live in an amazing world!

I started picking up my camera for others when my friends saw all the sunsets, beaches, mountains and waterfalls covering my walls they somehow assumed that I'd also be an amazing wedding photographer. At the time that was the last thing on my mind, but friends with money can be very persuasive. Right after my first wedding I realized how much beauty there is in photographing people. The emotion, laughter, and tears; the depth of story in a single expression is amazing! That first wedding turned into 7 more that year. That was 2006.

By 2008 my amazing wife had an amazing idea. If I'm going to say yes to everyone asking me to shoot their wedding I'd better form a proper business and do it right. Tinholt Photography & Design was formed and this incredible and fun journey began.
